2026 Mississippi Voting Checklist + Deadlines

  1. Find out if you are registered to vote. Check your Mississippi voter status here.

  2. Register to vote in Mississippi if you need to by Monday, October 5, 2026 through mail or in-person. Update your existing registration if any of your information has changed.

  3. Make sure you have your ID/Voter ID with you. 

  4. The general election date is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Put this date on your calendar.

  5. You can also vote early from Friday, October 16, 2026 to Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Put these dates on your calendar.

  6. Request a Mississippi absentee ballot if you want to vote-by-mail or in-person. 

  7. Return your absentee ballot by:

    • Tuesday, November 3, 2026

  8. Find out where your Mississippi polling place is. 

  9. Be sure to take note of any accessibility challenges you might face. Mississippi offers curbside voting.

  10. If you need some instructions or want a demonstration of your district’s voting system or accessible equipment, contact your Supervisor of Elections in your county. 

  11. Check out what a sample ballot looks like. If you did not receive one in the mail, most Supervisors of Elections have them posted on their websites.

  12. Arrange any transportation help you might need. Do this in advance, not on the day you need a ride.
